My Body Ecology Journey

Daily Work

This is the place where I'll come to share the DAILY work I'm doing to move through Body Ecology.  In the book, Donna Gates says the following:

"It takes courage and willpower to stay on The Diet.  One of the best ways to cultivate this is to hold a vision of yourself without any symptoms of candidiasis, a healed body and soul.  Imagine what your life will be like, free from pain, free from all the symptoms that have stopped you from doing what you want to do in life..."

It's a powerful image but most of us have trouble HOLDING the vision.  And that's where DAILY work becomes necessary, work that nourishes the vision, that empowers our spiritual side, and that reminds us that whatever our body craves, we have the ability to decide.

So here's the place where you'll get an overview of what my DAILY holding-the-vision work looks like.

Day 1- Saturday, October 20, 2012
"Regarding the body as an end, the go has no real use for it because it is not an end.  You must have noticed an outstanding characteristic of every end that the ego has accepted as its own.  When you have achieved it, it has not satisfied you.  This is why the ego is forced to shift ceaselessly from one goal to another, so that you will continue to hope it can yet offer you something."
- A Course in Miracles

There's the fear... that doing Body Ecology, that losing the weight, that physically becoming who I want to become will not satisfied me... because I've done it before and it didn't change much at all.  So it's time for me to shift how I'm seeing the process.  I need to move away from the quest for trimness to a journey to vitality.  That's the view I want to keep in mind... Because, at the end of the day, doing this means nothing if peace and joy don't accompany the work.

NOTE TO SELF: It's a process...

Day 1- Tuesday, October 9, 2012
"A meaningful curriculum cannot be inconsistent... You cannot learn simultaneously from two teachers who are in total disagreement about everything.  Their joint curriculum presents an impossible learning task.  They are teaching you entirely different things in entirely different ways, which might be possible except that both are teaching you about yourself.  Your reality is unaffected by both, but if you listen to both, your mind will be split about what your reality is." - ACIM

And that's where I've been: a split mind.  On the one hand, in a world that says "Don't deprive yourself!  You should be able to eat what you want when you want!" and the BED way of things that says, "There's a natural order to your inner ecosystem and its your right and responsibility to bring that ecosystem back in order."  At different times, each teacher seems reasonable but the sum result has been a split mind and an inconsistent approach to either.  It's amazing how A Course in Miracles puts it in proper perspective.

Day 2- Wednesday, October 10, 2012

Day 1- Sunday, October 7, 2012
I'm beginning with reading A Course in Miracles... And I'm rushing through the process.  When you want results quick, the tendency to is to try to shortcut what MUST occur.  So I'm beginning again... with a prayer: Help me see what I need to see, learn what I need to learn, and do what it is in my Highest Good.  Thank you God... AMEN.  Now, I'm back to ACIM.

"The Holy Spirit is perfectly trustworthy, as you are.  God Himself trusts you, and therefore your trustworthiness is beyond question.  It will always remain beyond question, however much you may question it.  I said before that you are the Will of God.  His Will is not an idle wish, and your identification with His Will is not optional, since it is what you are.  Sharing His Will with me is not really open to choice, though it may seem to be.  The whole separation lies in this error.  The only way out of the error is to decide that you do not have to decide anything.  Everything has been given you by God's decision.  That is His Will, and you cannot undo it."
- ACIM

What if being on Body Ecology, eating this way, and returning to WHOLENESS is not so much a choice but who I really am?  Wouldn't that now make the journey natural rather than oppositional?  Interesting...

Today's Affirmation:
I am willing to change.
